Why Consider Working Abroad: An “Out of the box” Success Story

In 1994… David, while working at Oracle, was offered an opportunity to live in Singapore and be responsible for an Asia Pacific region (14 countries at that time). The idea was extremely exciting, but also scared the living daylights out of him. David was born in the USA and, while he traveled a lot, he just thought living abroad was too “foreign” for him.

However, his curiosity got the better of him and he took the job. For David it was an extremely exhilarating, a great learning experience and a fantastic springboard for other opportunities. Subsequent to that role, he got a job as the global marketing manager for one of Hewlett Packard’s divisions and also landed a VP Business Development and General Manager Position for a start-up company, living in London.
